In the July 12 column The cruel myth of voter fraud, Joy-Ann Reid claims that it was clearly unpalatable for Republicans to admit that a majority of voters preferred John Kennedy in 1960, as they did President Obama in 2008. I guess it was also unpalatable for Democrats to admit that a majority of voters simply preferred George W. Bush in 2000.
Going all the way to the Supreme Court to appeal the decision certainly beats GOP folklore claims that the election was stolen from Richard Nixon by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. Of course according to Reid, the only real voter suppression schemes are perpetrated by Republicans including Wisconsin’s recent recalls.
I think I’ve got it now: If Democrats lose then it must be because of voter fraud, but if Republicans lose they are just delusional.
