Officers with "probable cause" to arrest a man Monday night at a Westchester home shot and killed the suspect, Miami-Dade police said.

The incident played out about 9 p.m. at 7860 SW 34th Ter., police said.

Police knocked on the man’s door to arrest him on a charge of aggravated stalking. The man, who neighbors said was armed, was fatally shot by a police officer.

He was identified Tuesday as Henry Patterson, 55.

Detective Roy Rutland, a police spokesman, said there was probable cause to arrest the man.

Detectives were investigating the shooting.
