Former Broward County Commissioner Josephus Eggelletion was released early Wednesday from federal prison in Jesup, Ga., after serving two prison sentences for federal and state crimes.

Eggelletion, 63, must report to a probation officer in South Florida in the next few days to begin a three-year period of supervised release, the federal version of probation.
