After a night of drenching downpours, North Miami-Dade is starting to see drier roads. However, forecasts predict wetter conditions throughout Monday.

National Weather Service meteorologist Kim Brabander said South Broward and North Miami-Dade got pelted Sunday night with one to two inches of rain. Some pockets of Miami-Dade got hit harder, with more than two inches of rain.

Conditions seem to be drying out, he said, since he hasn’t heard of any new reports of flooding.

Miami International Airport was hit by the flooding, and travelers found themselves wading through watery parking lots. On Monday morning, however, conditions were back to normal, said airport spokesman Greg Chin.

The airport got about two inches of rain in within an hour, so some of the trains were slowed. As of Monday, he said, the parking lots and the roads around the airport were clear.

There is still a 60 percent chance of rain for Miami-Dade today, and a 30 percent chance tonight.
