Terrel Harris scored 14 points, and Norris Cole and Dexter Pittman added 13 apiece as the Heat opened its five-game Las Vegas Summer League schedule on Sunday with a 71-59 win against Toronto at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Pittman, who shot 5 for 8, added seven rebounds and three blocks but also had five fouls in 23 minutes. Cole shot 4 of 10 and had just two assists, to go with two turnovers. Harris shot 4 for 12.
Three players stayed behind in Miami because of injuries: center Justin Hamilton, the Heats second-round pick in last months draft, and two previous Heat second-rounders: center Jarvis Varnado and forward Robert Dozier. None have been ruled out for the entire summer league.
Starting alongside Harris, Cole and Pittman were former UM forward Adrian Thomas (four points) and ex-Duquesne forward Damian Saunders (scoreless). Loyola Marymount rookie Drew Viney had 12 points and six rebounds for Miami.
