A Deerfield Beach marina caretaker was killed Wednesday night after his mobile home went up in flames.

Broward Sheriff’s Office firefighters had rushed to Freedom Marina Center at 790 NW First Terr., just after 7 p.m. to fight a blaze.

They found the mobile home fully engulfed. While battling the fire, crews found the body of a man, who neighbors said was the caretaker, inside the trailer.

The victim’s name has not been released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
