Antoinne Hester, 22, is wanted by Broward Sheriff's Office for a July 4 shooting on I-95.
Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting inside a car as it travelled along Interstate 95.

The unusual shooting occurred around 5:40 a.m. on the Fourth of July inside the Kia Soul somewhere between Sunrise Boulevard and Sample Road, BSO said.

Four people were in the vehicle when the suspect, passenger Antoinne Robert Hester, 22, opened fire on another passenger, Bevins Bennett, 20.

The driver rushed the wounded Bennett to the emergency room at Broward Health North. At the hospital, Hester jumped out of the car and fled.

Bevins died from his injuries on Saturday. Police are still investigating what prompted the shooting inside the car.

Detectives are asking the public for help in locating Hester. They believe he is still in South Florida, most likely in Palm Beach County, where he lives.

A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information about the shooting or Hester’s whereabouts is asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detective Valerian Perez at 954-765-4321 or Broward Crime Stopper at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
