The U.S. Mint in Philadelphia is opening a new tour to visitors on Tuesday, the first upgrade in more than 40 years. The $3.9 million exhibit includes artifacts and coins from the Mint’s earliest days, as well as windows overlooking the production floor with touch screens and interactive features that illustrate the coin-making process. Mint spokesman Tom Jurkowsky says the new tour really shows the skill and artistry involved in making America’s coins. The facility makes around 25 million coins every day.
