Investigators have identified human remains found by two hikers at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek on Thursday afternoon.
The Miami-Dade Medical Examiners office confirmed that the decomposing body found in Coconut Creek belong to Maria Claudia Murphy, a woman who disappeared in March.
The badly decomposed body was clothed but had no identification at the time.
Murphy was last seen in an ATM security video about 2 miles from where the body was found. Her family told police at the time of her disappearance that she has been suffering from food poisoning and could have been disoriented because of her medication. A family friend reported seeing her wandering down Copans Road.
The remains were found on the south side of Tradewinds Park, in the 3600 block of Sample Road.
