Baby boy proves to be chef’s toughest critic

 

Chef Michelle Bernstein figures she can handle most challenges. She and her husband, David Martinez, own one of Miami’s top restaurants. She’s a familiar face from Top Chef and hosts Check, Please! South Florida on WPBT-PBS 2. She has her own line of cookware, and this fall you’ll start seeing her name on chef-driven Lean Cuisine frozen meals. Juggling is her middle name.

But after the arrival of a 6-pound bundle of love named Zachary Gray Martinez in September, she was almost done in. Almost.
