After the five conservative justices of the United States Supreme Court ruled in favor of Citizens United in January 2010, it opened the floodgates for big corporations to start pouring money into the Republican Party’s election campaign, and its coffers rapidly filled with contributions.
By pouring millions of dollars into negative ads, Republicans think that they can win he White House. They feel assured that as long as they keep making a mountain out of a molehill to cause doubt and by trying to distract us all with the talk of debt, a percentage of voters will be convinced and vote for Republican candidates.
We must ask ourselves whether the Republicans’ objective is nothing more than a corporate America empowered to undertake the destiny of the 99 percent.
