Congratulations to Cuban-American Andy Garcia for the production of the film, For Greater Glory,
which is being shown locally since June 1.
The film captures the difficult years that began in the 1920s in Mexico, under an intense religious persecution that killed over 200,000 Mexicans defiant of the government’s anti-clerical rule. They died for their Christian beliefs and their memory lives today in this wonderful film that brings to light a terrible page in the history of Mexico.
No doubt, the film comes at an important time to our nation, when some of our basic religious freedoms are being threatened. Hugo A. Castro, Miami
