Miami Herald Staff

An elderly patient at Coral Gables Hospital received an unexpected guest on Sunday morning,

According to WSVN, a woman, unknown to the patient and the patient’s family, was discovered by Adriana Gordon, the daughter of 80-year-old Paulina Moya, at her mother’s bedside. Gordon said the woman was feeding her mother.

Gordon said nurses were stumped as to how the woman entered the hospital and her mother’s room. She said her mother thought the unknown woman was an employee of the hospital.

Coral Gables Hospital released a statement: “We promptly asked the individual to leave and have launched an internal review. Out of an abundance of caution, we also notified local law enforcement. The safety and security of our patients is a top priority for Coral Gables Hospital.”
