Hurricane Andrew: 20 years later

Share your memories of South Florida‘s most devastating natural disaster in decades

As part of our coverage of the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Andrew, The Miami Herald revisited its photo archive and pulled some striking photos that captured the immediate aftermath of the catastrophic storm, which at times was recorded as a Category 5. These are the faces of loss and survival.

It is our hope that the photos serve as a reflection of how South Florida rebuilt after such devastating destruction. We also hope that the people in these photos or those who might know them come forward to tell us personal stories of how their lives changed after the hurricane.

We invite South Floridians to share their memories. Click here to submit your account.
