Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts is starting chemotherapy for treatment of a disease that will require her to get a bone marrow transplant later this year. ABC’s Roberts, who was treated for breast cancer five years ago, said on the show Monday she’s been diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, a blood and bone marrow disease once known as preleukemia. Roberts, 51, said she contracted the disease through her treatment for the breast cancer. The chemotherapy is a preparatory treatment for the bone marrow transplant. Luckily, her sister is a good match.

In other celeb health topics, there’s nothing funny about Tommy Chong’s latest news: The famed pot lover has prostate cancer. Chong, 74, told CNN he was diagnosed about a month ago with “a slow stage one” that he has had a while. His treatment: hemp oil and cannabis.
