A neighbor’s sharp eyes and quick action helped Miami police arrest a burglary suspect Monday in Little Havana.

Roberto Silveira Sanchez, 47, was arrested by Miami police officers Lexy Tejera and Suney Lastra. Sanchez was taken into custody inside a house in the 1300 block of Southwest Fifth Street. Another suspect inside escaped before police arrived.

At 10:45 a.m., a neighbor spotted two men break into the home. Arriving officers surrounded the house.

Sanchez was charged with burglary.

"We have seen a lot of break-ins in this area of Little Havana and police and residents have been very alert," Tejera said.

Sanchez was carrying a Cuban passport and a Miami-Dade County Jail ID card from a previous arrest.
