Recently, the host of a WLRN money-management program suggested that a caller in financial trouble hire a bankruptcy lawyer.
Do such lawyers exist? It sounds like an oxymoron or material for a stand-up comic. How do they make money? Clearly, bankruptcy clients can’t pay the confiscatory fees most lawyers demand.
Perhaps it’s a sentence judges pass on errant lawyers: Your sentence will be to practice as a bankruptcy lawyer for two years.
