Bring out the umbrellas: Stormy weekend ahead

Take it in while it lasts: Friday morning’s clear skies will give way to stormy weekend weather.

Forecasters say weather patterns are changing, but the storms will most likely roll in Saturday afternoon and last until Sunday morning.

“Keep your eye on the sky,” said Andrew Kennedy, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Miami.

According to Kennedy, the gloomy weather will be caused by low pressure from the Gulf of Mexico.

South Floridians can expect humidity and isolated showers until then, with temperatures ranging from the low 70s to low 80s all weekend.

Boaters are also cautioned to stay away from the waves until next week.

Kennedy said next week promises to be drier, with no chance of rain until next weekend.
