A man attempted to steal six cans of ham from Tropical Supermarket in the 18300 block of Northwest 27th Avenue between 10:15 and 11:30 a.m. Feb. 12. The thief was held by a loss prevention officer until police arrived. The man was arrested when police discovered there was a bench warrant on him for a prior theft conviction. The stolen items were valued at $24.
MIAMI GARDENS
A man attempted to steal two cordless shavers and eight tubes of toothpaste from a Walgreens pharmacy in the 18000 block of Northwest 37th Avenue between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Feb. 8. Store employees caught the man before he left the store and recovered the products, which were valued at $24.
Thieves broke into a 2007 silver Honda Element and stole $410 in cash, a cellphone, a leather bag and a credit card at Valero Gas Station in the 2700 block of Northwest 183rd Street between 11 and 11:30 a.m. Feb. 9. The stolen items were valued at $642.
A vandal threw a rock and broke the kitchen window of a home in the 6000 block of Northwest 177th Street between 5 and 11:30 p.m. Feb. 13. Damage is estimated at $100.
HIALEAH
A man took his car to a car wash in the 2300 block of West 68th Street about 1 p.m. Feb. 8 and didn’t realize he had left $1,140 in cash in an envelope wedged between the seat and the console. About 11 p.m. that night, he checked the car and noticed the envelope was missing. When police spoke to the car wash attendant the next day, he stated he never saw any money in the car.
