For the second time, former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal said he will be at WWE WrestleMania 28 Miami, but this time he did not confirm nor deny if he would be wrestling.

• In January, WWE denied Shaq's involvement, stemming from a prior radio show interview he did late last year.

That prior radio show was the Chicago-based Sirius/XM talk program “The Abe Kanan Show,” where O’Neal revealed he was in talks with WWE regarding a match at WrestleMania. Shaq noted The Big Show as an opponent, but he reiterated they were preliminary discussions with the sports entertainment conglomerate.

• The second time occurred last weekend on the red carpet for the Cartoon Network “Hall of Game Awards” show.

Here's what HollywoodLife.com reported. Shaq said, “‘Yes ...I’ll be there!’ when asked on if he would be wrestling at the event. So who will he be grappling with? Shaq wouldn’t say.”

On Tuesday, WWE wrote on its web site that Shaq will not be competing at WrestleMania 28.

And this time Shaq did not say he was wrestling at WrestleMania 28.

• Curious if that means Shaq will be a special guest ring enforcer or something similar or just one of the 75,000-plus in attendance at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens.

WrestleMania is on April 1, and Shaq likes to joke.

We'll see how this plays out, but it's free mainstream publicity for WWE either way.

• Why so much banter about the Big Show and not World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry?

There is history between the 7-1, 350-pound Shaq and the 7-0, 450-pound Big Show.

In July 2009, the two giants squared off during Shaq’s guest hosting appearance on WWE Raw (9 p.m. Mondays USA Network). Shaq body blocked Show, sending the massive WWE superstar to the mat and out of the ring.

Big Show has history competing against other sports figures at WrestleMania. He had a boxer vs. wrestler match against Floyd Money Mayweather at WrestleMania 24 in 2008 at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. He also had a sumo match against Sumo Grand Champion Akebono at WrestleMania 21 in 2005 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where Shaq celebrated three titles with the Lakers.

• Hall of Fame boxer Mike Tyson is already involved in WrestleMania Week as he will be inducted into the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame’s celebrity wing during the ceremony on March 31 at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami.

Shaq helped the Miami Heat win a world title, and the Heat play their home games at that AmericanAirlines Arena, where WWE Monday Night Raw (April 2) will also occur during WrestleMania Week.
