Charlie Sheen is backpedaling. Ashton Kutcher doesn’t really “suck.’’

Last week Sheen called into TMZ.com editors telling them, “I’m tired of lying. . . . . I’m tired of pretending the show doesn’t suck. . . . I’m tired of pretending Ashton doesn’t suck.’’ Clarification: What he meant that the writing is poor. In an open letter, Sheen writes to his replacement: “Dear Ashton: My bad. I was disrespectful to a man doing his best. I got excited and I threw you into the crossfire.’’

No word from Kutcher. He’s a busy man.
