The organizers of the Miss Miami Teen USA pageant, which feeds into the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant and awards college scholarships to women, say they may also crown a Miss Kendall Teen USA, if they have enough contestants.
Miss Kendall Teen USA also will have the chance of moving on to compete for the title of Miss Florida Teen USA.
Organizers are searching for women aged 17 and older to compete for the title of Miss Miami Teen USA. Interviews are being conducted now. This year's event will be held at The DoubleTree Hotel on Sunday, March 11, at 2 p.m.
The winner of the 15- to 17-year-old category will compete in Miss Florida Teen USA Pageant, where a college scholarship of $40,000 from Nova Southeastern University awaits the winner.
This year, the audience will be able to participate and give an award to a contestant from each category. The "People's Choice" Award allows audience members to get involved, asking everyone to drop their loose change and donations into jars for each of the contestants in the pageant. All of the proceeds from this year's People's Choice Award will be donated to The Foundation for New Education Initiatives, which is currently raising funds for wireless technology for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
