Beloved and/or despised Grammy winner Chris Brown was everywhere this weekend. On Saturday, he celebrated his recent win at Cameo with close friends, Young Money rapper Tyga and Busta Rhymes and an entourage of women. Brown was feted with an enormous cake designed as a Grammy and took over the DJ booth with Tyga, who grabbed the mic and performed his hit Rack City. Not one to be upstaged, Brown grabbed the mic from his pal and performed three of his own hits including Another Round, Strip and Look at Me Now. Despite the controversy, Brown was rushed by throngs of fans before leaving the club at 4:30 a.m.
Brown was also seen Thursday night at Arkadia at the Fontainebleau, along with Basketball Wives’ Evelyn Lozado and her on-again, off-again fiancé Chad Ochocinco, and at the Miami Heat game Sunday with Lil Wayne. Still, according to the New York Daily News, he still had time to Tweet a happy 24th birthday message to his ex Rihanna; rumors were flying via Twitter that the couple could be getting back together.
Michael Jordan thought he was just going to a mellow 49th birthday dinner Friday night at The Forge Restaurant | Wine Bar with fiancée Yvette Prieto. They were escorted to the cellar for what was to be a “Wine Cellar Tour,” then Jordan was surprised by almost 30 of his closest family and friends, including Ahmad Rashad and Derek Jeter. Back in the main dining room, Paula Abdul was also in for dinner, popping in to surprise Jordan by singing Happy Birthday with the group during the cake presentation. Abdul then led the restaurant’s owner Shareef Malnik back to his own table where the entire staff and friends were waiting to sing him as well. We’d say there’s a bright future for Abdul as birthday cheerleader at The Forge if she’s still in the market for a new gig.
Later, Jordan wowed the crowd at Mokai by stopping in for more birthday celebration with Prieto, Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and 20 other friends who held court at a table next to the DJ booth and got down to songs by Kanye West, Afrojack and The Police.
Real Housewives of New York’s Ramona Singer spent the weekend at the Fontainebleau with her husband Mario and daughter Avery. Singer entertained some friends on Saturday night at LIV and had a couples’ massage at Lapis Spa.
Teen heartthrob Joe Jonas was seen Thursday at SET, where he chatted up model Damaris Aguiar, and Friday at Bâoli Miami. Then he headed to WALL, where he arrived with bodyguards and an entourage of eight male friends. They hung out at a private VIP table for most of the night. At one point, Jonas got on the microphone to introduce the DJ and then posed for photos with fans. Jonas was staying at the Delano, where he was seen “working on his tan and enjoying the eye candy at the pool.”
The Cars’ Ric Ocasek, his model wife Paulina Porizkova — looking incredible, says our spy — and their two boys had dinner Friday at The Raleigh, where they were seen eating again on Sunday. Dance legend Mikhail Baryshnikov was seen Sunday night leaving The Raleigh, where we hear he’s staying while in town launching his photo exhibit, “Dance This Way,” at the Gary Nader Arts Center in Wynwood.
