A burglar broke the lock to a door at an abandoned residence in the 6000 block of Southwest 13th Terrace between 2 p.m. Feb. 2 and 10 a.m. Feb. 11.

MEDLEY

A thief stole about $211 after making two unauthorized transactions from a business account in the 7400 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue between noon and 1 p.m. Feb. 7.

MIAMI SPRINGS

A thief stole an iPod Touch and costume jewelry from a home in the 3500 block of Northwest 42nd Avenue about 8 p.m. Feb. 4. The property was valued at $1,010.

ARCOLA LAKE AREA

A thief stole a red 2007 Toyota Rav4 from the 9000 block of Northwest Eighth Court between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 7

DORAL AREA

A thief entered a business through a side door in the 4200 block of Northwest 73rd Avenue between 4:30 p.m. Feb. 3 and 8:45 a.m. Feb. 4 and stole five blank checks. The checks were cashed for $4,946.

WESTCHESTER AREA

A thief opened the front door of a residence and stole a laptop computer valued at $1,000 and $450 from the 9100 block of Southwest 27th Street between 12:45 and 2 p.m. Feb. 8. Damage was estimated at $100.

UNIVERSITY PARK AREA

A thief smashed the sliding glass door of a residence in the 3500 block of Southwest 109th Avenue and stole $150 in jewelry between 8:15 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. Feb. 8. Damage was estimated at $150.

A thief forced open a door to enter a residence and took $3,000 in jewelry and two cameras valued at $300 from the 10400 block of Southwest 21st Terrace between 7:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Feb. 8. Damage was estimated at $300.

A thief pried open the rear door to a residence and took $1,000, a laptop computer valued at $600, a digital camera valued at $150, and a watch valued at $100 from the 1000 block of Southwest 118th Court between 7:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Feb. 8. Damage was estimated at $200.
