The government’s deal with five major banks to provide $1,500 to $2,000 to homeowners who are behind in their mortgages to help them pay the banks is rewarding the banks who made these horrible mortgages in the first place. Those homes should be re-appraised and the banks made to re-do the mortgages at today’s low percentage rates.
This should stop the foreclosures, put people back in their homes and eventually save the banks from receiving this welfare from taxpayers.
