Beached Miami has compiled an Indie Cinema Weekend Roundup as part of a weekly effort to support Miami's small film houses, which are the only local venues for new, independent film.

Below is the listing for O Cinema in Wynwood -- go to beachedmiami.com to read the full roundup for all of South Florida.

Title: ‘UltraSuede: In Search of Halston’ (USA, documentary, 94 minutes, unrated)

Synopsis: Roy Halston Frowick reigned over the glittering 1970s decade, both as a legendary designer -- with his one-of-a-kind signature fabric, ultrasuede -- and as the emperor of New York City nightlife, with the fabled Studio 54 as his court. This somewhat amateurish effort by filmmaker Whitney Sudler-Smith chronicles Halston’s rise, fall, and his death through interviews with his best friend, Liza Minnelli; two of his leading models, Anjelica Huston and Pat Cleveland; fellow designers Dianne von Furstenberg and Stephen Burrows; and musicians Billy Joel and Nile Rogers (both of whom used “Halston” as a lyric in hit songs).

Where: O Cinema Showtimes: Thursday @ 8pm; Friday @ 7:30pm and 10pm; Saturday @ 7:45pm and 10pm; Sunday @ 5:30pm and 7:45pm
