Two dogs pulled from fire revived with oxygen masks

Stock Island firefighters rescued two dogs from inside a burned trailer on Stock Island — and gave them oxygen from tanks to ensure they were OK.

Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and firefighters responded to the Jerome Trailer Park at 6633 Maloney Ave. at 1 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a trailer on fire. When they arrived, residents of the park told them they thought there were dogs inside the trailer.

Firefighters were able to pull the dogs out of the smoke-filled structure, still alive. They administered first aid and it appears the dogs will be fine.

No human was inside the trailer, which was severely damaged by the fire. The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
