Two people in car shot in Hollywood after nightclub fracas

A confrontation early Wednesday morning that may have begun at a Pembroke Pines nightclub ended with one man dead and another injured in a Hollywood neighborhood, according to police.

According to Hollywood police Lt. Diana Pereira Bryant Thomas Howard was dropping of a passenger at 5920 Mayo St. when several cars opened fire on the car, striking Howard and the rear passenger.

Howard, 24, died at Memorial Regional Hospital. The rear passenger remains in stable condition at the same hospital. A third passenger was not injured.

Police say the evening began at Café Iguana’s in Pembroke Pines, where the three were involved in a disturbance.

After leaving, police say, they may have been followed.
