A law-enforcement involved shooting Monday night in Pompano Beach ended with one person dead, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened in the 800 block of Southeast 22nd Avenue.

Deputies first went to the home shortly before 6:30 p.m. in response to a report about a “disturbance," BSO said. Responding deputies were told that a man with a gun was attacking a person, and a woman was possibly being held hostage, BSO said.

At some point, a person was shot. The person was pronounced dead by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue.
