Cooper City cheerleaders finish sixth in state

Cooper City finished sixth in the Class 2A extra large varsity division of the state competitive cheerleading championships Saturday afternoon at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee. No Broward team reached the finals in the small or large coed divisions.

Plantation finished fifth in the Class 2A large coed division, and Flanagan finished sixth in the Class 2A small coed bracket.

Signings

Archbishop McCarthy baseball standout Ryan Castellanos signed with the University of Illinois.

Pine Crest had five of its athletes sign scholarships for crew. Jack Jablonski and Edward Walker signed with Princeton. Daniel Moon and Ali Finkelstein signed with MIT. Danielle Coller signed with Wisconsin.
