Corporate citizens

 

It was a bad decision by the Supreme Court to grant corporations the same First Amendment rights as people. Now, just two years later, the consequences are being felt.

The results of the Republican primary in Florida appear to reinforce the finding that copious amounts of money, spent on TV as well as other media, can buy the presidency.

I’ve come to the conclusion that money and power will affect my rights as a citizen of the United States to have any influence in the outcome of the election in 2012.

    Re the May 22 letter The goal: more water conservation: You cannot tell existing homeowners to limit water-sprinkler use while building more homes, each having showers, dishwashers, sprinklers, etc.
