Fabiola Santiago’s Feb. 1 column, No time for apathy in voting, demonstrates excellent commentary, exemplifying in words what must be on the minds of the majority of our citizens. Apathy is a dangerous road leading to the compromising of our civil rights in monitoring common sense, fairness, and accountability with regard to compensational incentives in attracting and retaining competent public servants who lead us.
Someone once said, “When the people lead, the leaders will follow. As you say, the vote on term limits should be a separate issue from monetary compensation, and this requires showing up at the polls.
