Two women were shot at a bar in Little Havana just after midnight Thursday, according to Miami police.

The bar — Primer Molino Rojo, 442 SW Eighth St. — was closed Thursday morning after Norma Macias, 34, and Angelita Lopez, 50, were shot in the shoulder and back, police said.

Fidencio Membrano, 35, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, according to spokeswoman Keandra Simmons. He is being held at the Miami-Dade County Jail.

A third woman also was involved. She was not shot.

“The man pulled her hair, then took out a gun,” Simmons said.

Jessenia Hernandez, 29, asked Membrano why he pulled her hair.

Membrano responded: “Are you offended?”

He then “took out the gun and started shooting,” Simmons said.

Hernandez took cover behind the bar and was not hurt, according to the police report.

“We don’t know if there was any relation between the women,” Simmons said. “We don’t know if they were related.”

According to police, the shooting was not domestic in nature.

Both women were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where they are in critical condition. At least one of them worked at the bar.

Membrano, who police say was drunk, was found about an hour later in the 1000 block of Southwest Second Avenue.
