The Rev. John Cox, OMI, pastor at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 1301 NW 71st St. in Liberty City, and the congregation will host Revival 2012, Feb. 5 through Feb. 8.
The opening service on Feb. 5, and the service on Feb. 8, will be at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Redeemer. The service on Feb. 7, will be at 7:30 p.m. at the participating church St. Philip Neri ,15700 NW 20th Avenue Rd. in Miami Gardens.
The revival is always a refreshing and joyful way the church celebrates Black History month and also to prepare the congregation for the oncoming Easter season. This year's revival leader will be the internationally known liturgical composer, author and recording artist Grayson Warren Brown.
Brown began his liturgical ministry in the late 1960s in a small inner-city parish in New Yourk City where, according to Cox, he learned early how significant and authentic, a Spirit-filled experience of worship can be to people in need of hope.
"His many years of experience working in a multicultural parish have given him a unique insight into the power that good liturgy can instill in people of all backgrounds," Cox said in a press release.
Brown divides his time between writing, composing and traveling throughout the United States, leading workshops, speaking at conventions and conducting parish missions. Cox said Brown's down-to-earth approach to liturgy and Scripture, coupled with his dynamic speaking style, has made him one of the most sought-after presenters in the country today.
This year's revival theme is: "The Power of Faith." All services will be preceded by a complimentary supper to be served from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. and will be followed by a program of gospel hymns starting at 7 p.m.
Cox has invited the community to the three evenings of "prayer, unity in Christ, generous hospitality and inspiring, Spirit-filled sermons."
It's free. For more information call Cox at 305-691-1701.

Truck wanted
Please consider this: the Pass it On Ministries, Miami's only all-volunteer food pantry which serves hundreds of people daily, needs your help.
Recently, one of the organization's two delivery trucks was totaled in an accident while making deliveries. Now down to a single truck, Pass it On Ministries, which has been run by volunteer Dee Dalrymple for more than 30 years, desperately needs your help to purchase a used truck or a donated vehicle so they can continue to serve their constituents.
Last year, more than 140,000 people, sent from dozens of welfare agencies, were served through the organization. In addition, the organization delivers food to several agencies and churches in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
Although Pass it On receives grants and government money, the money can’t be used for a new truck.
