Fort Lauderdale man shot dead Thursday night

Fort Lauderdale Police are searching for one or more suspects in the shooting death of a 25-year-old Fort Lauderdale man.

Alaric "Alvin" Charlery was found lying on the ground in the 1400 block of Northwest 6th Street, around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

The victim was rushed to Broward General Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 11:35 p.m., according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.

Detectives still are interviewing witnesses to identify any suspects involved in the murder.

Police are urging anyone with information about the murder of Charlery to contact Det. Mark Shotwell at 954-828-5517 or Broward Crimestoppers at 954-494-8477.
