An outdoor art exhibition is in the making in Breckenridge as 15 teams with artists from 11 countries prepare to compete in the 22nd annual International Snow Sculpture Championships. During the competition, which opens Tuesday, each team creates an enormous work of art from 12-foot-tall, 20-ton blocks of Colorado snow. Artists get 65 hours to work, but no power tools, internal support structures or colorants. The sculptures will be up through Feb. 5 — weather permitting.
