Thief flees West Dade robbery with computer, jewelry

A thief smashed the window of a 2011 Toyota too and fled with jewelry valued at $50, a GPS navigator valued at $900, a laptop computer valued at $500, and several items including luggage, clothing, and a laptop case valued at $1,620 in the 3800 block of Southwest 103rd Avenue between 3 p.m. Jan. 1 and 9 a.m. Jan. 2.

A thief pried open the door of a 2001 Ford on the 3800 block of Southwest 103rd Avenue between 5 p.m. Jan. 1 and 9 a.m. Jan. 2. Damage was estimated at $500.

WEST MIAMI

A thief stole several bottles of pills, all valued at $199, from a CVS pharmacy in the 6300 block of Southwest Eighth Street about 2 p.m. Jan. 9.

A thief stole a purse from the passenger seat of a car parked at a Shell gas station in the 2300 block of Southwest 67th Avenue just before 7 p.m. Jan. 7.

MEDLEY

A thief stole a truck tailgate from a Ford parked in a lot in the 12400 block of Northwest South River Drive between 5 and 6 p.m. Jan. 4. Because the truck was parked too far from surveillance cameras, police and the truck’s owner were unable to see anyone near the vehicle. The stolen property was valued at $1,000.

MIAMI SPRINGS

A thief stole a wooden door, a dryer stand and ceiling light fixtures and bulbs from a home in the 200 block of Shadow Way between noon Jan. 1 and 11 p.m. Jan. 2. Estimated loss of property $1,300

A thief stole a pair of shoes, a new vaporizer, 30 towel sheets and a car seat cover in the first block of Fairway Drive about 9 a.m. Dec. 28. The stolen property was valued at $500.

DORAL

A thief pried open a sliding glass door to enter a residence and stole jewelry and a cellular phone valued at $100 in the 8700 block of Northwest 111th Court between 12:45 and 3 p.m. Jan. 6.

A thief took four tires valued at $400, the rims valued at $400, and the spoilers valued at $400 from a black 2010 4-door Mercedes parked outside a hotel in the 3800 block of Northwest 107th Avenue between 8 p.m. Jan. 8 and 2 p.m. Jan. 9. The car had dents and scratches from the theft.

A thief shattered the driver side window of a 2012 Toyota and stole a GPS unit valued at $300 from the 3800 block of Northwest 107th Avenue between 8 and 8:50 p.m. Jan. 8. Damage was estimated at $500.

A thief smashed the left rear passenger window of a 2004 Honda and stole a laptop computer valued at $500 and a purse valued at $150 from the 10000 block of Northwest 41st Street between 4:30 and 6 p.m. Jan. 7. Damage was estimated at $200.

A thief smashed the window of a 2004 Mazda and stole an Apple iPad valued at $650, two laptop computer cases valued at $150, and vehicle parts valued at $250 from the 8100 block of Northwest 12th Street between 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. Jan. 7. Damage was estimated at $250.

NORTH TRAIL PARK AREA

A thief smashed the window of a 2011 Chevy took and fled in an unknown direction with a black leather purse valued at $250, a brown wallet valued at $275, and $100 in cash from the 700 block of Northwest 129th Court between midnight and 1 a.m. Jan. 1. Damage was estimated at $150.

A thief smashed the window of a 2007 Toyota took and fled with $500 in cash, a purse valued at $150, and passports and credit cards from the 12900 block of Northwest Seventh Lane between 8 p.m. Dec. 31 and midnight Jan. 1. Damage was estimated at $100.
