Hoops war: Belen vs. Christopher Columbus on Friday

The annual rivalry basketball game that attracts hundreds of South Florida alumni and students from two Miami-Dade prestigious all-male schools will be played Friday.

The game between Belen Jesuit and Christopher Columbus will be at 7:30 p.m. at Florida International University, 11200 SW Eighth St.

The junior varsity team will play at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity game.

“This is the tenth consecutive year of playing against Columbus and it’s a game we look forward to every year,” said Jose E. Roca, Belen’s assistant principal and varsity coach. “Both schools have outstanding players and this game showcases that talent.”

Tickets to the game are still available at each school.

Tickets purchased at the door Friday are $20.
