The Design District just got a little, well, more designer.

The area’s newest store is Kreiss, a renowned home furnishings and design company that will celebrate the opening of a showroom in the Design District on Jan. 10.

The event will be hosted by NBA All-Star and philanthropist Alonzo Mourning, whose charity, Honey Shine Mentoring Program, has been designated as the event’s beneficiary.

Founded by Tracy Wilson Mourning, Zo’s wife, the Honey Shine Mentoring Program works to empower young girls to become successful women through bi-monthly workshops, field trips, and a four-week summer camp each year, according to the program’s website.

During the grand opening, there will be a sneak peak of three new collections by Kreiss, cocktails courtesy and hors d’oeuvres.

With the new retail showroom, Kreiss reaches 13 locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
