Saints’ Brees sets record, wins fourth consecutive Miami Herald season pass championship
This time, it was a breeze. The Saints’ prolific Drew Brees is The Miami Herald’s 2011 Passer Success System (PASS) champion in record-setting fashion, his fourth consecutive season title concluding the rankings’ 14th year. Brees’ total of 713.80 points shattered the old record of 664.30 set by Tom Brady in 2007. Runner-up Aaron Rodgers sat out the season finale, resting, but could not have caught Brees even if he had played. Only 20 times in 13 previous years had the 500 mark been surpassed, before four quarterbacks did it this season. Brees’ winning margin of 111.95 is second biggest of all-time. The Dolphins’ Matt Moore finished in 20th place. The final top 35 for 2011:
