dadenews@MiamiHerald.com

A good Samaritan is said to have saved a Miami woman from a house fire Wednesday night.

Estrella Aviles, 96, and her caretaker were at home along Southwest 15th Avenue and Fourth Street when they noticed smoke and heard an explosion, WSVN7 reported.

A witness told WSVN that Aviles appeared to not want to leave the house as the fire spread, before a good Samaritan grabbed her out of the home.

Her belongings and house were destroyed. Fire Rescue said the fire could have been prevented and a space heater may be to blame, according to WSVN7.
