CORAL SPRINGS

Flames collapse roof of Coral Springs home

Sun Sentinel

A late night fire caused heavy damage to a house in a quiet residential area of Coral Springs on Tuesday, according to Fire Rescue officials.

Thick smoke and flames consumed the home on the 4900 block of Northwest 58 Terrace in the Hidden Hammocks development, they said.

It started just before 11 p.m. and the fire was so intense it caused the roof to collapse, Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Moser said.

Neighbors said they did not believe anyone was home at the time and firefighters found no one inside, Moser said.

The blaze was brought under control before midnight but the house is a total loss, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
