Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta mistakenly blames Israel’s increasing isolation from its Arab neighbors on Israel’s leaders. He doesn’t blame the present Arab Middle East disorder, anarchy and confusion or the Arab Spring which created chaos in that region on a naive U.S. foreign policy. The democratically elected new Arab leadership, as a result of this spring, is predictably leading to a harsh winter, with Israel left out in the cold by its Arab neighbors. Secretary Panetta should look to place blame where it belongs.
