FIRST QUARTER
• Impact player: Kicker Dan Carpenter returned from injury to make an immediate impact. He kicked field goals of 48 and 33 yards in the first quarter to give the Dolphins a 6-0 lead.
• Highlight: The Dolphins defense held the Raiders to 11 plays and 42 yards.
• Lowlights: The Raiders had 3 yards on three carries.
SECOND QUARTER
• Impact players: Rookie center Mike Pouncey helped the Dolphins offensive line average 7.4 yards per carry in the first half. Pouncey was out in front of several of Reggie Bush’s long runs. Bush had 79 yards on 10 carries in the first half.
• Highlight: Matt Moore threw a pass to Davone Bess over the middle for a 12-yard score.
• Lowlight: Illegal contact by Kevin Burnett overturned an interception by Karlos Dansby and gave the Raiders a first down.
THIRD QUARTER
• Impact player: Burnett made amends for his penalty in the first quarter when he intercepted Carson Palmer at the Raiders’ 34 and returned it for a touchdown. Vontae Davis
• Highlight: The 77-yard kickoff return by rookie Clyde Gates was a season long.
• Lowlight: The decision to eject Raiders defender Richard Seymour seemed rather harsh considering the foul. Officially, Seymour was ejected for “throwing a jab.” It seemed more like a tap.
FOURTH QUARTER
• Impact player: T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s one reception went for a 40-yard touchdown, although it was a meaningless score considering the Dolphins had long since gone conservative leading 34-0.
• Highlight: The Dolphins’ victory formation, signaling the team’s fourth win in five weeks.
• Lowlights: The Raiders’ two late touchdowns will leave the Dolphins’ defensive coaching staff with plenty of ammunition for next week’s game against the Eagles.
