CORAL SPRINGS – A tubing accident in Coral Springs has claimed teenage boy’s life.

Police spokesman Lt. Joe McHugh said there were two people being pulled on an inflatable tube in the C-14 Canal when it flipped near Coral Springs Drive. Both riders were thrown into the water.

McHugh said he was told by an officer on the scene that a 17-year-old boy never returned to the surface. Police divers recovered his body twenty minutes later.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has taken over the accident investigation.
