Radiation Shield Technologies, a Coral Gables company that produces personal-protection systems, recently presented Hialeah Emergency Management Director Joe Caragol with a plaque for his commitment to remain at the forefront of new technologies.

The presentation took place at the Police Mutual Aid Luncheon at Las Culebrinas restaurant in Hialeah before approximately 30 colleagues and first responders.

Caragol and Hialeah Emergency Management recently worked with RST to educate first responders on the latest personal-protection technology called Demron. This unique technology enables first responders and military to simultaneously combat modern threats, including traditional ballistics and bombs as well as dirty bombs, improvised explosive devices, radiological emission devices and the ever-increasing nuclear and radiological threats.
