The latest Miami Herald police blotter entries for Aventura:

A thief stole a 1997 Jeep Cherokee valued at $5,000, along with cosmetology books and equipment valued at $900, outside Sears, 19501 Biscayne Blvd., between 5:30 p.m. Aug. 17 and 12:45 a.m. Aug. 18.

A thief went through a glove compartment and damaged an ignition after breaking into a 1996 Honda Accord at Bloomingdale's, 19555 Biscayne Blvd., between 5:30 and 10:30 p.m. Aug. 17. 

A thief stole a 2002 Chrysler Voyager valued at $5,000 at Nordstrom, 19507 Biscayne Blvd., between 6 and 10 p.m. Aug. 17. 

Someone scratched the side on a 2008 BMW in the 3200 block of Northeast 184th Street between 10 p.m. Aug. 13 and 6:45 p.m. Aug. 16.
