Three men are hospitalized but in stable condition after a triple stabbing Monday morning on Miami Beach, according to a police spokesman.

According to Detective Juan Sanchez, Gerson Lera-Hernandez, Jaime Escobar and Eddie Escober were wounded about 6:10 a.m. in the area of 730 15th St.

Lera-Hernandez, 22, suffered a laceration to the head and was taken to Mt. Sinai Medical Center.

Jaime Escobar, 24, suffered a laceration to the head and hand, and Eddie Escobar, 21, suffered a laceration to his lower torso. Both were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, according to police.

``It is still unclear as to how and why this incident occurred,'' Sanchez wrote in a news release.

The incident remains under investigation.
