Motorcyclist dies in Palmetto Expressway hit-and-run

A motorcyclist is dead after a hit-and-run Saturday afternoon on the Palmetto Expressway.

The driver, who was not identified by police, struck three vehicles near Northwest 36th Street in Doral while heading south on his motorcycle. He died en route to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.

One of the drivers, who witnesses said was driving a white Honda Pilot, did not stop. It is believed the car sustained damage to a side-view mirror, Florida Highway Patrol Spokesman Alex Annunziato said.

The drivers of the other two vehicles were not hurt, Annunziato said.
