Product: eStarling TouchConnect digital photo frame

Features: Touchscreen interface on a 10.2-inch 800x480 LCD screen. Has 2GB of memory and reads SD media cards. Uses Wi-Fi or ethernet connection to upload photos from computer and sync from Facebook, Flickr and Picasa. Can also add photos and videos by e-mailing them to a Gmail account. Shows time, weather and can access Twitter and Google calendar. Has optional auto shut off timer. It can also automatically sync photos from an RSS feed. Uses table stand or wall mount. Powered by AC adapter.

Price: $199.99

Ups: You don't connect this to your computer at all photos are added wirelessly (or you can use a SD card). A home computer can go to a local website to dump photos to the frame wirelessly. Assign a Gmail account to it (preferably an account made just for the frame) and every photo or video e-mailed to that account will automatically be added to the frame, making it easy to instantly add photos taken from a cellphone.

Downs: The touchscreen is irritating because it doesn't always respond well to a finger. Using something like a pen gets better results, but it's still quirky. Not all my Facebook photo albums were added. It uploaded less than a quarter of my photos, so there must be a limit to how much it will sync on Facebook. The instructions to add videos are not very clear, and the ones I sent to my Gmail account were not added to my video gallery.

Bottom line: The frame has all the cool Wi-Fi features I would want . . . except for the fact that I had trouble uploading video, not all Facebook photos would sync and the touchscreen was temperamental. Because of the bugs, it's not worth getting. And although it might seem cool it can access Twitter, it's kind of pointless for a photo frame.
